Trainer's Training

Teacher leaders and others who will provide TPRI training need to attend a Training-of-Trainers (TOT) session. TOTs provide useful information about the assessment tool as well as tips for how to provide effective TPRI trainings to others.

Registration:

Once a training opens, click on the "Register Now!" link in the table above to reserve your spot.  Once all available slots for a session have been filled, the registration for that session will close, so please be sure to register early.  Registration is completed solely online.  If you would like to be on the waiting list for a training that is full, please email tpri@uth.tmc.edu. Clearly indicate the training you would like to attend and include all of your contact information. If a spot becomes available, the TPRI team will contact you directly.

Training Information

The TPRI early reading assessment has been revised for the 2010-2014 school years. All teachers and staff who administer and work with the TPRI will need to receive training for the revised kits which were released in the summer of 2010. Training for the new kits has been reformatted to allow for more flexible delivery to teachers and campus staff.

Who Should Attend:

Individuals who will be coordinating training or directly training teachers are invited to attend one of the TPRI Training-of-Trainers (TOT) sessions listed above.  Districts, schools, and ESCs should plan for sufficient TPRI trainers to meet the needs of the teachers in their schools and regions. 

Price & Payment:

The fee for all trainings is $100.  This includes the cost of registration, all materials, lunch, and a light breakfast each day.  The training fee is non-refundable.  If the person from your district/school who originally registered is unable to attend, at no cost, the registration may be transferred to another individual.  Please notify us by email of any change including the name of the person who will be attending.

Times:

Time for all trainings is 8:30-4:00, with registration beginning at 8:00 AM on day 1.

Requirements:

  1. Registration is completed online and payment is received PRIOR to the date of training. We do accept checks or purchase orders. We do not accept credit cards.
  2. Attend 2 full days to be certified as a TPRI Teacher Trainer.
